Spring is finally in sight, and there's no better way to bid farewell to winter than with a visit to Fairlane Village Mall. From fundraising events to fun and interactive children's activities, upcoming March events offer something to please everyone. All events are free and open to the public as follows:
- Sat., March 16: The Easter Bunny's arrival is a sure sign that spring is on its way. The day's festivities kick off with a magic show at 10 a.m. All children in attendance will receive a free chocolate bunny. The Easter Bunny arrives at the end of the show and will be available for visits and photographs. The first 100 children to visit the bunny will receive a voucher for a free Reading Phillies ticket.
- Sat., March 16: Area residents are encouraged to give the gift of life by donating blood during the American Red Cross Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To make an appointment to donate blood, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or register at http://www.redcrossblood.org/.
- Mon., March 18 through Sun., March 24: Give hope to people facing cancer by supporting Daffodil Days, one of the American Cancer Society's oldest and most beloved fundraisers. The event takes place in the Center Court. For more information, contact Leslie Wagner at (570) 874-1413, ext. 2101.
- Mon., March 18 through Sat., March 30: Members of the community are invited to come out for the mall's 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children ages 12 and under can pick up an entry form at the Bunny House or in the Mall Office. Find all of the eggs on your list and enter to win one of several Easter baskets stuffed with candy and toys! Winners will be notified by April 5.
- Sat., March 23: Local Cub Scouts will hold their Pine Wood Derby. Registration starts at 9 a.m. For more information, contact Lisa Fredericks at (610) 926-3406.
Fairlane Village Mall, "Where Schuylkill County Shops For Value," is located on Route 61 North, just a mile from downtown Pottsville. For the third year in a row, Fairlane Village Mall was named Best Shopping Center in the annual "Best Of" competition sponsored by Schuylkill Living Magazine.
