April: ShopRite of Ramsey Celebrates Spring with Calendar of Nutrition Counseling and Wellness Events
Happenings Include Culinary Workshops, Product Demos and More
RAMSEY, N.J., March 29, 2017 – This April, ShopRite of Ramsey, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a variety of nutrition counseling and wellness events, including those celebrating Earth Day. The in-store programs will be led by Sondra Tackett, M.S., R.D., a registered dietitian, who will offer easy-to-implement advice and instruction. The following programs are free, open to the public, held at ShopRite of Ramsey and do not require advance registration unless otherwise noted:
Thurs., April 6 – Meal of the Week Demo, 4 – 6 p.m. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner to sample this week’s “Meal of the Week” recipe. All of the necessary ingredients and recipe cards can be found on the Meal of the Week cart in the Appetizing Department.
Mon., April 10 – Kid’s Culinary Workshop, 5 – 7 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at Customer Service is required. Little chefs will enjoy creating a healthy and fun meal with Sondra. This month’s theme is “Eat the Rainbow.” The cost is $20 per child and adult pair and $10 per additional child.
Tues., April 11 – Go Green with Gotham Greens, 1 – 3 p.m. Gotham Greens’ rooftop greenhouses provide sustainable and pesticide-free produce for ShopRite all year long! Come by the Dietitian’s Office to sample some of their products and take another step toward a greener future.
Fri., April 14 and Wed., April 19 – Product Spotlight: Sunbutter, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sunbutter is an allergen-friendly sunflower seed butter that is packed with nutrients, including fiber, vitamin E and protein. Stop by the Dietitian’s Office for a sample and creative recipe ideas too.
Thurs., April 20 – Adult Culinary Workshop, 6 – 8 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at Customer Service is required. Join our chef and dietitian team in creating a healthy and delicious meal! This month’s theme is “Spring Forward.” The cost is $20 per person.
Sat., April 22 – Celebrate Earth Day, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Happy Earth Day! Spring is finally here, and it’s time to get gardening! Visit the Dietitian’s Office for free seedlings, local product samplings and information on ShopRite’s sustainability efforts. Join us in celebrating as we go green for our environment.
Fri., April 28 – Produce Pick, 12 – 2 p.m. Sondra will be serving this week’s Produce Pick and providing preparation tips as well as nutritious, delicious recipe ideas. Stop by for a taste.
