HOBOKEN, N.J., August 1, 2014 – ShopRite of Hoboken, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting complimentary blood screenings for the general public on Sat., August 16 from 1 – 4 p.m. The screenings do not require appointments and are being offered in partnership with CarePoint Health, which is comprised of three Hudson County-based hospitals – Bayonne Medical Center, Christ Hospital in Jersey City and Hoboken University Medical Center.
The CarePoint Health screening van will establish mobile operations in ShopRite of Hoboken's parking lot, located at 900 Madison Ave., in Hoboken. The van is a state-of-the-art medical vehicle, designed to address the growing healthcare needs of patients and families in the communities served by CarePoint Health hospitals and physicians.
The screening is part of ShopRite of Hoboken's on-going commitment to serving as an easily accessible community wellness resource for local residents. An extension of this mission is ShopRite's retail dietitian program, which offers free assistance with shopping or meal planning as well as small group and one-on-one counseling. Monthly events, such as adult and children's cooking classes, educational seminars, food tastings and food allergy support groups, also are planned on an on-going basis.
