End of Summer Programs Include Picnic in the Mall, Cub Scout Recruitment

POTTSVILLE, Pa., July 18, 2012 – Fairlane Village Mall in Pottsville will celebrate the end of summer with back-to-school shopping, a children’s picnic and Cub Scout sign-ups this August. All activities are free, unless otherwise noted, and open to the public.
- Tues., Aug. 7 – Children 12 and under are welcome to join the fun as a “Picnic in the Mall” will be held at noon in the storefront across from Super Shoes. All attending children will receive a free brown bag lunch and meet and greet with everyone’s favorite cartoon mouse! Bring a picnic blanket and pull up a patch of floor for this fun-filled event. Pre-registration is required by visiting the Mall Office or calling (570) 429-1563 by July 30.
- Mon., Aug. 13 through Sun., Aug. 26 – Go back to school in style and find everything you need at the area’s best stores including Kohl’s, Boscov’s, rue21, Fashion Bug, Super Shoes, Payless Shoe Source, Schuylkill Valley Sports and more. In addition to back-to-school sales, the following promotions will be going on at Fairlane Village Mall:
- Shoppers who spend $75 in one day at any combination of Fairlane Village Mall stores can receive their choice of free gifts: a pen and highlighter set or a set of earbuds (while supplies last). Must be 18 or older to participate. One free gift per person. Receipts must be dated same day.
- Stop in one of our participating stores to register to win a Back-to-School Bundle stuffed with gift cards and store merchandise valued at over $200! Look for the floor graphics outside of participating stores or visit the Mall Office for more information. This contest is open to shoppers age 18 and over. Enter to win August 13 through 26. Winner will be chosen and notified the week of August 27. One entry per person, per day.
- Sat., Aug. 18 – Cub Scout Pack 604 of Port Carbon will setup camp in Center Court for new member sign-ups. Boys in grades 1-5 from surrounding areas including Port Carbon, Pottsville, New Philadelphia, Middleport, Kaska, St. Clair and more are welcome to join. Visit their tables from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to find out what all the fun is about.
Fairlane Village Mall, “Where Schuylkill County Shops For Value,” is located on Route 61 North, just a mile from downtown Pottsville. For the third year in a row, Fairlane Village Mall was named Best Shopping Center by the readers of The Republican-Herald newspaper in the annual “Best Of” competition featured in Schuylkill Living Magazine.
