Dignitaries and Healthcare Colleagues Join in Ribbon Cutting Event at Rockville, Md., Skilled Nursing Facility
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 11, 2022 — The leadership of Collingswood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and Marquis Health Consulting Services recently celebrated the completion of a sweeping, $7 million renovation and modernization at the Rockville skilled nursing facility. The invitation-only event brought together dignitaries, care team members and healthcare colleagues.
Dan Cochran, president of Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center; Ken Reichard, assistant to U.S. Senator Ben Cardin; and Montgomery County Council Member Sidney Katz led the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Reichard presented a certificate on behalf of Senator Cardin.
“Collingswood has been transformed into a modern, home-like environment for residents – one that accommodates progressive skilled nursing services,” said Nikki Gachot, regional director of market development for Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility and spearheaded the renovation. “The Collingswood and Marquis teams couldn’t be happier with the results.”
Collingswood’s renovation centered on an expansion of the rehab therapy gym and the incorporation of a spacious activities of daily living (ADL) suite. The gym features state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support the delivery of progressive rehab services, while the ADL suite mimics a home environment – enabling patients the opportunity to regain skills before returning home.
Collingswood’s new design incorporates ample glass to capture abundant natural light and cleanly divide open spaces. It features a contemporary feel with an overall color scheme that is soothing and sleek with warm pops of yellow and blue. “The updates pair a high level of functionality with modern aesthetic touches – it’s beautiful!” added Gachot.
The expansive modernization features enhancements throughout the facility. Those include the addition of 30 private rooms, updates to the dining rooms and lounges for residents and families to gather and wide, bright hallways.
During the renovation process, Collingswood and Marquis enhanced the facility’s specialized programming, including the addition of Physiatry Services, which helps in maximizing rehab services and providing for the best functional outcomes. Specialty offerings also include Cardiac Care, Pulmonary Rehab and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Management with onsite hemodialysis, among others.
Located at 299 Hurley Avenue, Collingswood offers post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. Beyond its clinical offerings, Collingswood provides a resource library of physician-curated content, addressing many topics of interest for families of patients and the larger community.
