AACVPR Event Recognizes Rehabilitation’s Key Role in Reducing Effects of Heart Disease 
ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 19, 2021 – During American Heart Month, the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) has designated February 14-20 as Cardiac Rehabilitation Week, recognizing rehabilitation’s key role in reducing the effects of heart disease. Residents and care team members at Collingswood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Rockville joined in this year’s “Beating Strong, Living Long” themed event. Located at 299 Hurley Avenue, Collingswood offers post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The skilled nursing facility’s Cardiac Care Program is designed to meet the healthcare needs of area residents. The specialized program aims to promote independence and quality of life through reducing symptoms and decreasing disability in heart patients, while increasing their participation in physical and social activities.
Founded in 1985, the AACVPR is a multidisciplinary professional association for those in the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation field. Its mission is to reduce morbidity, mortality and disability through education, prevention, rehabilitation, research and disease management.
