WAYNE, N.J., Dec., 1, 2014 – ShopRite of Wayne, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a full roster of healthy holidays and wellness events throughout December. Natalie Nachef, M.S., R.D., in-store registered dietitian, will lead each of the offerings and provide easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. The following free events are being held for local residents. All programs are open to the public, held at ShopRite of Wayne and do not require advance registration, unless otherwise noted:
Tues., Dec. 2 and Mon., Dec. 29 – Produce Pick, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. ShopRite's in-store dietitian will be sampling a fresh snack from the produce department. Join in to find out what's in season and take home a recipe too.
Thurs., Dec. 4 and Mon., Dec. 22 – New Product Sampling, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Stop in to sample some of the healthy new items on ShopRite's shelves.
Wed., Dec. 17 – Kids Class at Wayne Public Library, 4 – 5 p.m. ShopRite's registered dietitian will lead a fun-filled story hour and snack time focused on healthy holiday eating. Advance registration is required at http://www.waynepubliclibrary.org/. The Wayne Public Library is located at 461 Valley Road in Wayne.
Sat., Dec. 20 – Healthy Holiday Desserts, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. ShopRite's in-store dietitian has all the secrets to making holiday desserts healthier without sacrificing the taste. Stop by the Dietitian's Corner for samples and recipes.
Sun., Dec. 21 – LiveRight with ShopRite Kids' Day, 1 p.m. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Youngsters can create and try new things while preparing a simple, healthy snack. Recipe cards will be distributed to all participants. Stop by the Dietitian's Corner or Customer Service to reserve a spot.
Tues., Dec. 23 – Healthy Holiday Tips, all day. Have questions on healthy cooking and nutrition during the holidays? Stop by the Dietitian's Corner for all the answers.
Tues., Dec. 30 – New Year's Party Snacks, 3 – 5 p.m. Drop by the Dietitian's Corner for a sampling and recipes of healthy appetizers on New Year's Eve.
