Fairlane Village Mall Announces February/March Events
Batting Clinic, Bridal Expo and ‘Cupcake War’ Highlight Upcoming Happenings

POTTSVILLE, Pa., Feb. 16, 2018 – A full calendar of special events offers something for everyone throughout the months of February and March at Fairlane Village Mall. The following events are free and open to the public as follows:

  • Feb. 17: Rules have changed this year for bats that can be used in Little League games. Schuylkill Valley will have “approved” bats on hand for players to try out during a Sports Batting Clinic. Batting cages and stations will be set up in the south end court for “hands-on” action. Local teams will be assigned specific times to attend.   • Feb. 24 and Sun., Feb. 25: A pre-owned prom gown sale by Cinderella’s Closet, sponsored by Frackville Rotary, takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit Frackville Midget Football and the Frackville Pool. The sale will take place in the storefront next to Super Shoes. All gowns are priced at $10, and accessories priced at $1.
  • March 3 and Sun., March 4: A vendor show/Chinese auction will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. More than 200 prizes and more than 30 vendors will be featured during this fun-filled two-day event. Hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (auction at 3 p.m.).
  • March 7: A Job and Career Fair, sponsored by PA CareerLink and radio station T-102, takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • March 10: An American Red Cross Blood Drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the storefront next to Super Shoes.
  • March 10: Find everything you need to have the perfect wedding day during a Bridal Expo sponsored by radio station, T-102. For more information, contact Megan Devlin at (570) 622-1360.
  • March 11: Sign up at your local library to be a baker or a cupcake taste tester during a fun-filled “Cupcake War” event. Bakers will be grouped into categories of “Under Age 18” and “Age 18 and Older,” and judged on display, individual cupcake and taste. Cost to enter is $10. Each baker must bake three dozen cupcakes of the same flavor and will be given a two-foot section for display. Set up begins at noon and the Cupcake War starts at 1 p.m. Cupcakes will be sold to benefit participating Pottsville District Libraries. Youngsters also can participate in a coloring contest during the event.
  • March 16 to Sun., March 18: A Kid’s Closet Connection Spring Consignment Sale takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A private sale will be held Friday night for consignors and volunteers.   • March 17: The Easter Bunny is coming to Fairlane Village Mall. An EGG-citing magic show starts at 11 a.m. with the Bunny’s arrival at the end of the show. Be one of the first to greet our cheerful rabbit. Jalonski Photos offers high quality digital photo packages. Get a free Easter plush with every photo package purchase.
  • March 21 and 28: Bring furry friends to pet photos with the Easter Bunny from 5 to 8 p.m.
  • March 30: An American Red Cross Blood Drive takes place from 1 to 6 p.m. in the storefront next to Super Shoes.
  • April 1: Happy Easter! The mall will be closed. Department store hours may vary; see specific stores for details.
