Hands-on Baking Experience for Hundreds Held in Partnership with The Jewish Home
MARLBORO, N.J. (Sept. 22, 2023) — Families delighted in coming together for the Women’s Circle Annual Challah Event at the Center for Jewish Life in Marlboro, held in partnership with The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing (Freehold). During the hands-on baking experience, Rabbi Yossi Kanelsky spoke about the laws and customs of Rosh Hashana while his wife, Dina, instructed the crowd of hundreds on how to braid the dough in the customary round shape for the festive holiday.
“What a wonderful celebration; this picture says a thousand words!” said Sara Kohn, regional director of network development at The Jewish Home. Yelena Sloush, Russian medical program coordinator at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, also attended the festivities.
“It was The Jewish Home’s true honor to sponsor this event for the community,” added Kohn. “Many thanks to Rabbi Kanelsky and Dina for all of their efforts and to Yelena for joining in.”
