Michael Mullin, President, Continues to Lead Operations and Initiatives
TOTOWA, N.J., Jan. 27, 2014 – Totowa-based Integrated Business Systems (IBS) has become an employee-controlled organization, announced Michael Mullin, President. Founded in 1979, the firm develops and supports sophisticated property management and accounting software for the commercial and residential real estate community. The company also provides computer network services to clients in a range of industries.
Mullin, a 20+-year industry veteran who joined IBS in early 2010,assumed his current position in 2011. He continues to lead day-to-day operations and strategic growth initiatives. In addition, six senior-level employees have been appointed to a newly created management advisory team with a cumulative 65 years of history with IBS.
IBS Founder Robert Entin has served for seven years in a dual role as Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of IBSas well as SVP – Chief Information Officer for Vornado Realty Trust, an IBS system user. Entin relinquished his IBS titles at the end of 2013 in order to focus exclusively on his position at Vornado. As a result, a significant amount of the privately held stock for IBS returned to the organization and has been re-distributed to IBS employees.
Entin will continue to work closely with IBS in his role at Vornado. “This is a natural progression for IBS and for me,” Entin said. “It also is a positive evolution for IBS team members, who have been integral in the company’s progress over the years, to now have a vested interest in its future.”
Evolving with Technology
IBS originally launched operations 35 years ago when computer usage in real estate was in its infancy. Since then, technology has transformed the way the industry operates, and IBS consistently has remained at the forefront of its niche. The IBS software, written by real estate professionals, is browser based and addresses virtually every property management, accounting and construction management task. The company serves more than 75 prominent commercial and residential real estate owners, developers and property managers, primarily in the New York/New Jersey region.
“The shift to employee ownership is a positive development for our firm on several levels,” Mullin said. “It acknowledges the commitment of our team members and also strengthens their stake in the future of this company. IBS always has been known for its outstanding client service and support, and as we begin this new chapter we will look with fresh eyes at ways we can address our valued customers’ needs.”
IBS maintains a development program to ensure that its proprietary software embraces technological advances and meets the changing needs of its client base. Every aspect of delivery, from hardware and customized software, to data conversion and extensive on-site training, to service, support and ongoing system updates, is provided with an extraordinary level of care. Additionally, IBS’ Network Services division offers full consulting, design, installation and support services.
