It’s easy to see how we feel about our talented team. Each brings their special skills and talents to work – and has many varied interests outside of the 9-5, too. Those facts sparked the decision to start our “Team Member Spotlight” blog series. First up is Account Manager Maxine Aviles. It’s important to note that Maxine happily volunteered to help launch the series (okay, okay, maybe a little gentle arm twisting was involved).

Let’s get started in meeting Maxine!

What drew you to the PR field?
For me, it starts with a bit of astrology. I’m a Gemini, the sign often associated with communications, which, I believe, is so important in countless aspects of life. Also, PR is never boring; there’s always something new to learn, especially when working with different clients and collaborating with team members on strategies.

How long have you been at CCI?
I started in 2018, right out of college as an Account Coordinator, and have continued to take on more responsibility. I was promoted to Senior Account Coordinator and then to my current role as Account Manager.

What’s the highlight of your workday?
Being proactive and creative almost always proves the highlight. I love seeking out opportunities and coming up with ideas that might interest our clients. The best part? When they really like it.

What is one of your favorite books? How many times have you re-read it?
I am all about the horror genre (don’t judge!), and The Shining is one of my absolute favorites. I’ve only read it twice – it’s really scary!

What’s your ideal way to spend a Saturday?
To me, an ideal Saturday means relaxing and unwinding with my family and my boyfriend. We will order in some yummy take-out – tops to me is pizza – and sometimes pop on one of our all-time favorite movies, like Mean Girls or Scream.  Few things are better on a Saturday than spending the time connecting with my family and boyfriend after an often busy week.

You’ve just won the lottery! Where would you travel – anywhere in the world – and why? (Caveat: you have to come back to CCI!)
As soon as the money hits my bank account, I am off to the island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia. I have dreamed of vacationing there someday for as long as I can remember, and I’d stay in one of the bungalows over the water, of course. Breathing in the smell of the ocean, hearing the sound of the lightly crashing waves – I need to go buy a lottery ticket!
