Real Estate Award Reception and Pynes Putting Challenge Highlight Event at the United States Golf Association Headquarters in Far Hills
FAR HILLS, N.J., Apr. 2, 2015 – The March of Dimes New Jersey Chapter will honor Edward Russo, chief executive officer of Russo Development, at the organization’s 2015 Real Estate Award Reception and Pynes Putting Challenge. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, June 11 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the United States Golf Association (USGA) headquarters, 77 Liberty Corner Road in Far Hills.
“For 15 years, the Real Estate Award Reception has provided a forum for the March of Dimes to raise awareness about its work while honoring an outstanding real estate industry leader for their contribution to maternal and infant health,” said Carol Roberts, director of special events for the March of Dimes North Jersey Division. “Ed Russo is well respected within both the industry and his community, and he is a wonderful supporter of the March of Dimes’ mission. We are thrilled to acknowledge his efforts as our 2015 honoree.”
The Real Estate Award Reception, which has been recognizing industry leaders since 2000, brings together approximately 250 professionals from New Jersey’s real estate community and affiliated organizations, including senior executives, brokers, managers, architects, developers, owners, engineers and related industry leaders. The evening includes networking, a short program and the opportunity for attendees to view the USGA Museum’s many exhibits. The new Jack Nicklaus wing will be open by June.
Russo Development: A Family Business and Industry Leader
Russo has been CEO of Russo Development – a premier developer of commercial, residential and mission critical real estate in New Jersey – since 2001. In that time, he has transformed the business his father founded in 1969 into one of the most active real estate development firms in New Jersey. During his tenure, the company has completed over two million square feet of mission critical space along with build-to-suit industrial facilities for many esteemed clients. In addition to the commercial and data center projects in its pipeline, Russo has a multi-family pipeline of over 2,000 units planned for the next three years.
Russo has served on the Foundation Board of Hackensack University Medical Center, the executive board of the Northern New Jersey Council for the Boy Scouts of America, and the foundation board of The Arc of Bergen & Passaic. In addition, he is an active member of many business trade organizations including NAIOP, the Urban Land Institute, the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.
“The March of Dimes’ mission to create a world of stronger, healthier babies appeals to me on a personal level,” said Russo. “I am grateful for their 75 years of research, education and tireless advocacy efforts and honored to be recognized by this tremendous organization.”
Pynes Putting Challenge an Event Highlight
The 2015 Real Estate Award Reception is being co-chaired by Robert Martie, executive vice president of Colliers International NJ LLC and Geoffrey L. Schubert, senior vice-president of CBRE. Erik Sletteland of Structure Tone Inc. is serving as Pynes Putting Chair. The Pynes Putting Playoffs will be held at 4:30 p.m. on June 11 at the Pynes Putting Course, a 16,000-square-foot nine-hole putting green located behind the USGA Museum. The Real Estate Award Reception honoring Russo will immediately follow.
The winning team will receive a framed proclamation commemorating their victory signed by Arnold Palmer; two tickets for the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa. compliments of the USGA; and lodging courtesy of Wyndham Worldwide. Additionally, the company whose team wins the final match will have its name engraved on the “Pynes Cup” trophy. The winners will hold the trophy and have bragging rights for one year until they either successfully defend their title or relinquish it to a worthy competitor.
