Interactive Game Show Environment at Cambridge Tests Dozens of Participants

MOORESTOWN, N.J. (Nov. 3, 2023) — Assisted living and skilled nursing residents at Cambridge Enhanced Senior Living and Cambridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center teamed up with local students for an afternoon of fun and community building during a virtual reality Back-to-School Trivia Tournament recently held at the Moorestown continuum-of-care campus. The Cambridge teams competed against dozens of others within the Mid-Atlantic region.

The friendly tournament was made possible through a partnership of Marquis Health Consulting Services, Cambridge’s administrative and consulting services provider, and immersive technology provider Rendever, which facilitated the interactive game-show environment in real time.

For the trivia game, Cambridge residents teamed up in person with local students to compete virtually against other intergenerational pairs at more than 30 Marquis client nursing centers and assisted living communities. The participants donned virtual reality headsets, answering four rounds of questions. Topics ranged from school-style subjects, including English, to popular culture spanning the 1930s to present day.

“It was a lovely, fun intergenerational bonding experience – and our teams were impressive,” said Cambridge’s Julia Jackson, director of life enrichment. “Residents and students delighted in being together and engaging with many others virtually while showing off their trivia knowledge. All are eager for next year’s tournament!”

Rendever is redefining the future of care, empowering the aging process to be more fun, more dynamic and more socially rich. Marquis-supported centers utilize Rendever’s state-of-the-art technology to support a range of life enrichment activities, including exercise classes, virtual world tours and more. Boston-based Rendever recently expanded its RendeverLive® platform to provide full-time live, interactive programming for senior living communities and seniors aging at home.

“We’re all in on any chance we get to collaborate with Marquis’ client communities,” said Rendever Vice President of Partner Success David Stoller. “These partners are utilizing Rendever to bring older adults and younger generations together – another fantastic approach to leveraging the power of our technology to create thriving communities and meaningful connections. It all goes to show the power that positive shared experiences can have on everyone’s wellbeing – and create happier, healthier and more connected lives.”

“Life enrichment programs at Marquis client centers emphasize boosting physical and mental wellness, enhancing social interactions and building community,” said Marquis’ Ricardo Pena, vice president of life enrichment. “On top of that, activities like Back-to-School Trivia are just plain fun. Rendever is aligned with Marquis’ focus on holistic wellness and is a great partner for us and our client centers like Cambridge.”
