HARRISBURG, Pa. (March 13, 2024)A multi-million-dollar renovation is underway at The Terraces at Capitol Village and Capitol Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Harrisburg. The senior living and healthcare campus on Linglestown Road is being modernized from top to bottom, with expanded amenities, services and programming to meet the needs of its personal care and skilled nursing residents.

Marquis Health Consulting Services, which provides administrative and consulting services to The Terraces at Capitol Village and Capitol Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, has partnered with in-house leadership to develop and implement the large-scale transformation.

A New Level of Amenities and Services
Work is set to begin this month at The Terraces at Capitol Village, a 64-unit personal care community where residents enjoy a fulfilling, worry-free lifestyle that includes engaging life enrichment programming, gourmet dining and access to the services they need, when they need them. The undertaking will include a complete refresh of the lobby and hallways as well as the main dining room, activity room, theater and private dining room.

“The renovation will take this enhanced senior living community’s amenities and services to a new level – one that reflects the evolving demands of discerning seniors,” said Lauren Everett, vice president of senior living services for Marquis. “Our vision is to offer the best of what is trending in senior living, including upscale residences, resort-style amenities and distinctive lifestyle options.”

Progressive Skilled Nursing Care in a Home-Like Environment
At Capitol Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, upgrades to the lobby, dining room, resident rooms, and activity areas are already underway, with an anticipated fall completion. The 138-bed skilled nursing facility, which provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care, has an established reputation for exceptional care.

Nikki Gachot, regional director of market development for Marquis, said, “The center is being completely transformed into a modern, home-like environment for residents – one that accommodates progressive skilled nursing care and services. It is going to be absolutely gorgeous.”

Gachot noted that a central highlight of the renovation is the expansion of the center’s state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym. It will incorporate an activities of daily living (ADL) suite that mimics a home environment, giving patients the opportunity to regain skills before returning home.

Designer Michael Lebovics of ML Group, which is spearheading the transformation of the campus’ physical spaces, sought to craft a series of lush and warm contemporary spaces. “We are layering light wood tones, natural stone, and nature-inspired emerald greens and blues, along with abundant neutrals and nuanced textures,” said Lebovics. “Bold architectural details and lively contemporary art complete our approach to a lifestyle of wellness, comfort and luxury.”
