Nation’s Leading Commercial Real Estate Development Association Recognizes Industry’s Rising Stars

SEATTLE, Wash. (Oct. 30, 2023) NAIOP New Jersey member Andrew Chun, senior project scientist with Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, has been honored with NAIOP’s 2023 Developing Leaders Award. One of only five industry professionals under the age of 35 to be recognized for their exceptional achievements, leadership and community involvement, Chun accepted the award during a ceremony on October 19 at NAIOP’s CRE.Converge 2023 conference in Seattle.

“Andrew Chun stands apart for the vision, leadership and dedication he brings to NAIOP and commercial real estate,” said Marc Selvitelli, CAE, president and CEO of the commercial real estate development association. “We are pleased to recognize his accomplishments and work in creating vibrant communities in which to work, live and play. We look forward to a bright future for him.”

Chun, who is based in Langan’s Princeton office, specializes in providing environmental engineering services for development projects in the residential, commercial, industrial, entertainment, healthcare, and higher education sectors. As co-creator of Young Professionals@Langan, he also helps promote a culture of knowledge sharing and skills development among his co-workers. Chun brings the same skills to his role as co-chair of NAIOP New Jersey’s Developing Leaders Committee, where he is seeking ways to help members connect, communicate, and advocate for themselves – including launching a pilot mentoring initiative.

“This prestigious award shines a light on our industry’s diversity and the exceptional caliber of this next generation of leaders,” said NAIOP New Jersey CEO Dan Kennedy. “Andrew has an exceptional ability to leverage strong communication skills and personal relationships to solve problems and create opportunities, and he is dedicated to sharing these strategies with his colleagues. There is no doubt he will be making a difference in the real estate community for many years to come.”

In addition to being grateful for the recognition, Chun said he was proud to represent Langan and the New Jersey chapter and the great work it is doing. “NAIOP New Jersey is committed to providing the tools, networking and resources to help young real estate professionals advance their careers. It is exciting to work with Dan and his team to make things happen.”

Chun also enjoyed having the opportunity to make meaningful connections with his co-honorees while attending CRE.Converge. “I was thrilled to meet folks from other regions who are at the same level in their careers. They are truly impressive, and I hope we can find ways to collaborate as we advance in the industry together.”

Founded in 1970, NAIOP New Jersey is a leading chapter of NAIOP, a national trade association for commercial real estate developers, owners, investors, asset managers and other industry professionals. The New Jersey chapter’s members benefit from robust business and networking opportunities, education and professional development programs, and strong legislative and public affairs representation.
