Volunteers will gather at CFBs Headquarters to Collect Donations and Prepare Food Bags

NEW BRUNSWICK/HILLSIDE, N.J., June 13, 2014 – For the fifth straight year, NAIOP New Jersey, the commercial real estate development association, will join forces with the Community Food Bank (CFB) of New Jersey in Hillside, N.J., to conduct a food drive and volunteer day. The chapter’s 2014 Community Action Project is slated for Friday, July 18.
On July 18, volunteers will spend the day at the Food Bank headquarters in Hillside, with a combination of half-day and full-day shifts from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., sorting incoming donations, repacking food and household items and more. Lunch and beverages will be provided.

CFB, a designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization, supplies food to 1,500 soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, after-school programs and senior centers across New Jersey. Of those receiving assistance, 45 percent are children and 10 percent are elderly.
The 2014 Food Drive is NAIOP New Jersey’s latest effort in a long tradition of community service, with the ultimate goal of helping to make the state’s communities better places in which to live and work.
