Proceeds of Partnership with Community Food Bank of New Jersey will be collected at November 26 Awards Dinner
Event Date: November 26, 2012
SHORT HILLS, N.J., Oct. 25, 2012 – Continuing its partnership with the Community Food Bank (CFB) of New Jersey, NAIOP NJ is conducting a “Tools 4 Schools” drive to benefit the Food Bank’s Kids Division. Donated items and cash donations will be collected at the commercial real estate development association’s President’s Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner, slated for November 26 at the Short Hills Hilton Hotel.
“Philanthropy continues to be a very important part of our mission,” said Michael G. McGuinness, chief executive officer of NAIOP NJ. “We are pleased to continue to work with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to make our state a better place to live and work.”
CFB’s Kids Division’s goal is to improve the lives of children and break the cycle of poverty by providing classroom supplies, new clothing, and nutritious meals. Tools 4 Schools runs a free store for teachers in low-income school districts, and with the “back to school” rush now concluded, a new infusion of donations is needed.
Most-needed items include new pencils and crayons, glue sticks, staplers, rulers, scissors and pencil cases, as well as new children’s clothing. All kinds of school supplies are accepted, including those with company logos.
Members are urged to check their offices’ supply rooms for new items that are no longer needed, as well as to set up collection areas and encourage everyone to bring donations. On November 26, cash collection cans will be placed at every table for those who can’t bring supplies.
