New Jersey Real Estate Companies Support March of Dimes

FAR HILLS, N.J., May 26, 2016 — More than 250 commercial real estate professionals will be on hand to support the fight for healthy babies and to honor Mack-Cali’s CEO Mitchell E. Rudin at the March of Dimes Real Estate Reception and Pynes Putting Challenge on June 16 at the United States Golf Association (USGA) in Far Hills, N.J.

The Real Estate Awards reception was founded in 2000 and has been recognizing the hard work of industry leaders to raise awareness about its mission of preventing prematurity, birth defects and infant mortality.

This year’s honoree, Mr. Rudin, experienced up close and personal the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey to observe premature infants. “After my visit to the NICU, I am so impressed by the work of the March of Dimes, their 75 years of research, education and tireless advocacy efforts. It is my privilege to be recognized by this tremendous organization at this year’s event,” said Rudin.

According to Carol Roberts, director of special events for the March of Dimes New Jersey Market, “For 16 years the Real Estate Award Reception has provided a forum for the March of Dimes to raise awareness about its work while honoring an outstanding real estate leader.  When Mr. Rudin toured the NICU, he exuded a sense of warmth, caring and compassion as he talked with doctors about their care for these children. We are delighted to have Mr. Rudin as our 2016 honoree, a man well respected within both the industry and his community, and as a supporter of the March of Dimes mission.”

In addition to the charity dinner, the event will feature the Pynes Golf Putting Challenge, the brainstorm of New Jersey real estate executive Erik Sletteland of Structure Tone. “The idea to incorporate the golf aspect of this wonderful charity came to me when the renovation and expansion of the USGA Museum was underway,” states Sletteland. The event offers sponsored teams the chance to compete for the championship and prizes at the 16,000 square foot nine-hole putting green adjacent to the USGA Museum. Since its inception, the golf event has helped to raise more than $105,000 for the March of Dimes.

In addition, a live auction will take place at the event with almost 100 items available, generously donated by participating real estate companies. Items up for auction include golf outings, jewelry, theatre tickets, autographed sports memorabilia, weekend hotel stays and tickets to sporting events, among many others.

The 2016 Real Estate Award reception and Pynes Putting Challenge will take place on Thursday, June 16 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the United States Golf Association headquarters, 77 Liberty Corner Road in Far Hills, N.J. The evening offers the opportunity to network among New Jersey’s real estate community and affiliated organizations, including senior executives, brokers, managers, architects, developers, owners, engineers and related industry leaders.  The evening will also include a short program and a tour of the USGA Museum’s many exhibits.
