Specialty Retailer Commits to 6,000 SF at Levin-Managed Property

BRIDGEWATER, N.J., March. 11, 2021 – Norman’s Hallmark has renewed its commitment and relocated to a larger space at Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater. In its new location, the popular family-owned and operated card and specialty retail shop occupies 6,000 square feet, a space about 1,500 square feet larger than the original.

The 219,000-square-foot shopping center, located at the junction of Route 202/206 and Route 28, is exclusively leased and managed by North Plainfield-based Levin Management Corporation (LMC). Vanessa Fernandez-Kelty, LMC senior leasing representative, arranged the lease.

“When tenants grow and thrive – particularly in a challenging retail climate – it’s exciting news,” Fernandez-Kelty said. “With this expansion, Norman’s Hallmark offers an even more inviting and easy-to-shop store design. The success that Norman’s Hallmark has seen at Somerset Shopping Center testifies to this property’s position as a key local shopping destination, and we are pleased to have them remain a tenant for years to come.”

The new Norman’s Hallmark store at Somerset Shopping Center is fully modernized and features an even wider selection of card and gift items than the former shop, according to Howard Henschel, Norman’s Hallmark chief executive officer. “The larger space also allows us to improve the way we display our merchandise and creates a wonderful shopping environment for customers,” he said. “We have a strong customer base at this Bridgewater location and are pleased to be expanding here with one of our new, full-line stores.”

In addition to Hallmark products, which include an expansive selection of Keepsake Ornaments, Norman’s carries gift merchandise from other major suppliers including Vera Bradley, Yankee Candle, Life is Good, Willow Tree, Jellycat, Mud Pie, PuraVida and many others. The Somerset Shopping Center location also carries specialty candy and food items in-store.  As an added convenience introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic, Norman’s offers curbside pick-up through hallmark.com.  Also added during the pandemic was the launch of their own website, normanshallmark.com, which offers a wide variety of their gifts as well.

The lease signing also underscores LMC’s strong relationships with prominent national and regional brands. In fact, it represents the second recent recommitment/expansion with Norman’s Hallmark, which is the largest independent Gold Crown chain in the United States. Last fall, Norman’s celebrated the grand opening of a relocated and expanded store at Hamilton Plaza in Hamilton, N.J.

Somerset Shopping Center serves a growing residential population of 118,000 people with an average household income of $140,000 within a five-mile radius. About 72,000 vehicles pass the property each day. The property’s mix of retailers, restaurants and service providers includes Christmas Tree Shops, Barnes & Noble, Gap, Eastern Mountain Sports, Pupcakes and Pawstries Barkery and Shoppe, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, Rite Aid, TGI Fridays and Men’s Wearhouse, among others.
