Bergen County, N.J., Skilled Nursing Facility Also Named Among Nation’s Best

Oakland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center

OAKLAND, N.J. (March 19, 2024)Oakland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center has earned re-accreditation for its quality care and services – maintaining a Gold Seal of Approval® – from The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Located at 20 Breakneck Road in Oakland, the 215-bed skilled nursing facility provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

To maintain its Nursing Care Center Accreditation and approval seal, Oakland underwent a rigorous, unannounced on-site review by The Joint Commission, an independent, nonprofit organization; full surveys are required every three years. During the visit, its team evaluated compliance with performance standards across a range of areas, including post-acute care, emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, and medication management, as well as rights and responsibilities of the individual and leadership.

“The Joint Commission’s thorough review is patient centric and data driven with a keen focus on evaluating actual care processes,” said Kani Burgos, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility. “Undoubtedly, earning re-accreditation and maintaining a Gold Seal of Approval® from The Joint Commission is a testament to the Oakland team’s commitment to skilled nursing excellence.”
