Mews Features 34 New Construction Homes within Redevelopment of Historic Edison Invention Campus
WEST ORANGE, N.J., July 25, 2018 – Christian Quaritius knows residential real estate in New Jersey. The 16-year industry professional recognized something special happening at Edison Village, Prism Capital Partners’ industrial-to-residential redevelopment of the Thomas Edison Invention Campus in West Orange. This July, he will become one of the many new residents of The Mews at Edison Lofts, a collection of 34 one- and two-bedroom newly constructed homes within the redevelopment.
“I’m always looking at new properties that come to the neighborhood, and we knew this one was going to be unique in terms of its location and amenities,” said Quaritius, who is the Sales Manager and a Broker Associate with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New Jersey Properties in Livingston. Quaritius and his husband of 26 years, Ken Goldenberg, a professional photographer specializing in residential real estate, will move into a one-bedroom apartment with a den.
Edison Village encompasses 21 acres on Main Street in the heart of West Orange Township’s Downtown Redevelopment area. Phase I includes The Mews and Edison Lofts building, the renovation and reconstruction of the 100-year-old factory, as well as 18,400 square feet of retail with a supporting 630-space parking structure.
Quaritius, Goldenberg and fellow residents of The Mews and Edison Lofts will have access to abundant amenities. Those include a private fitness center with sauna and indoor swimming pool, doorman and concierge service, media/screening room, business center, private dining room and even a dog washing station.
The property also features park-like green spaces, landscaped grounds and a rooftop indoor/outdoor lounge with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and grills available for residents. “Ken and I love to grill and plan to enjoy many dinners up on the roof,” added Quaritius. “It looks like such a great spot to relax and get to know our new neighbors.”
The Shoppes at Edison Village, which will be open to the public, will provide residents a new in-town shopping and dining experience just steps from their front doors. The Shoppes will include restaurants and café-style concepts, an array of shops and an interior plaza with a cascading fountain.
“We are thrilled that many residents are moving in and will begin enjoying all that Edison Village has to offer,” said Prism’s Edwin Cohen, principal partner. Prism Capital Partners is an experienced real estate owner/operator with a proven track record of creating value through select real estate investments and developments.
For Quaritius, who has lived in Union for the last few years, the move to The Mews also affords a closer commute to his office in Livingston as well as proximity to many friends in the area. “I am shortening my commute to just 12 minutes,” noted Quaritius. “Ken and I are also looking forward to moving near many of our friends in West Orange and Montclair and being closer to some of our favorite restaurants there.”
