NEW YORK, N.Y., April 11, 2014 – SaxBST, one of the nation’s top 100 accounting firms, will host the next in its series of “Fist to Five” events in New York City with the interactive discussion, “How to Survive Change in the Not-for-Profit Community.” Presented in conjunction with Gallagher/Bollinger Insurance, this free program will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Vanderbilt Suites in the MetLife Building, located at 44th St. and Vanderbilt Ave.

A panel of experts, moderated by Todd W. Polyniak, CPA, director of SaxBST’s Not-for-Profit Industry Services Group, will discuss the challenges associated with the latest changes in the not-for-profit sector.

Panel member David Shevlin, Esq., partner at Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett LLP, will address how the recent New York State Non-Profit Revitalization Act is affecting not-for-profits; Orly Wahba, executive director and founder of Life Vest Inside, will discuss how Life Vest Inside has benefited from changes in technology and social media, and new ways for organizations to spread their message; Barbara Krasne, CEO of Krasne Plows, will offer practical advice on how not-for-profits are adapting to the changes confronting the political, economic and social fronts; and Cindy Schreibman, president of On Assignment, will focus on what not-for-profits should do to be more successful at raising money and providing better services.

The SaxBST Not-for-Profit Industry Services Group adopted the name “Fist to Five” – a metaphor for bringing consensus among a group of people – to describe its mission to help not-for-profit organizations achieve peak performance and accomplish their goals.

Advance registration is required for the “How to Survive Change in the Not-for-Profit Community” panel discussion. For more information or to register for this event, contact SaxBST’s Danielle Atkinson at datkinson@saxbst.com or call 973-472-6250.
