Non-Profit Provides Professional Attire for Disadvantaged Women
CLIFTON, N.J., Jan. 20, 2014 – Accounting and business development consulting firm SaxBST hosted a successful winter clothing drive for Dress for Success, a non-profit that provides professional attire and support for disadvantaged women. SaxBST’s women’s group, Professional Organization of Women Empowerment and Results (P.O.W.E.R.), led the effort, which brought in nearly 100 wardrobe items.
Dress for Success is an international organization dedicated to improving the lives of women in more than 125 cities and 15 countries. It promotes economic independence by providing professional clothing, a network of support and career development tools to help underprivileged women thrive in work and life.
“We hope our contributions will help Dress for Success provide women with what they need to go into job interviews and the workplace with confidence,” said SaxBST’s Melanie Shellhorn, manager of human resources. “Reaching out to the community is an ingrained part of the SaxBST culture. Our P.O.W.E.R. members were enthusiastic about tying in women’s advocacy to support this great organization.”
