History and Philosophy
SaxBST is an outgrowth of two prominent Northeastern-based accounting firms. Founded in 1956, SMF grew to one of the largest single-office accounting and business consulting firms in the New Jersey/New York region. Tracing its roots back to 1944, BST has evolved from a traditional CPA firm to one of the largest full-service, multi-disciplinary financial and management consulting firms headquartered in the Albany area.
SaxBST's guiding principles are rooted in honesty, integrity, accuracy and providing the highest levels of service to clients and the community. The firm develops lasting client relationships by putting people first while advising businesses and individuals to help them grow locally, regionally, nationally and globally, as well as personally. SaxBST transcends a traditional accounting firm. Committed to a team-based approach, the firm is a trusted business advisor with a depth of knowledge embedded within its core areas of expertise. SaxBST also is committed to attracting the industry's most talented emerging leaders with a supportive work environment, emphasis on professional growth, and by rewarding outstanding performance.
Through a long-standing association with the McGladrey Alliance – the fifth largest accounting and consulting firm in the nation – SaxBST combines the personalized attentive service of a local firm with a full range of technical services available through a national organization.
Community Involvement
SaxBST employees are committed to improving the communities in which they live and work. The result has positively impacted their respective communities as well as numerous important charities. Examples of the firm's philanthropy include The 4 Miler at Garret Mountain, an annual race event to benefit St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Paterson, N.J., as well as participation in the American Diabetes Association's annual Tour de Cure, the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and Ronald McDonald House. SaxBST also supports and sponsors local events and organizations, including charity walks, youth sports, college athletics, arts and entertainment, and numerous civic and business functions.
