POTTSVILLE, Pa., July 27, 2011 – Fairlane Village Mall in Pottsville will celebrate the end of summer during the month of September, with sidewalk sales, the opportunity to save a life and an energy-packed program for kids. All events are free and open to the public as follows:
- Fri., Sept. 2 through Mon., Sept. 5 – End-of-summer sidewalk sales will offer savings throughout the mall. Shoppers will find some of the season’s hottest styles at participating stores. Please note: special mall holiday hours on Monday, Sept. 5, are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Department store hours may vary. See specific stores for details.
- Sat., Sept. 10 – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive in the space across from Super Shoes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Blood donors of all types are needed to help maintain critical blood bank supplies and give the gift of life. To make an appointment, call 800-GIVE-LIFE.
- Sat., Sept. 24 – A Little Villager’s Kids Club Event, “Energy Zone,” will get participants all charged up about energy at 1 p.m. Explore how we power our world, and help turn energy into all sorts of fun forms with Wondergy, a Philadelphia-based science entertainment group. Turn your motion into electricity, capture light, save some energy, and even make solar s’mores using 1,000 Watts of light and a giant reflector. Fairlane Village Mall, “Where Schuylkill County Shops For Value,” is located on Route 61 North, just a mile from downtown Pottsville. For the second year in a row, Fairlane Village Mall was named Best Shopping Center in the annual “Best Of” competition sponsored by Schuylkill Living Magazine.
