LYNDHURST, N.J., August 6, 2014 – ShopRite of Lyndhurst, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is kicking off its efforts during August to raise hunger awareness and funds as part of Partners in Caring. The annual program challenges ShopRite associates to ban together to help alleviate hunger in their local communities. The following events will be held at ShopRite of Lyndhurst, located at 540 New York Ave. in Lyndhurst, N.J.:
- Sat., Aug. 16 – Partners in Caring Car Wash, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Donation: $10 per vehicle.
- Fri., Aug. 22 – Movie Night, 5:30 p.m.: Kids – Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs; 7 p.m. Adults – Supersize Me. Enjoy a fun night with healthy snacks. Donation: $5 per movie/per person.
- Wed., Aug. 27 – Nutrition Bingo, 6:30 p.m. Test your luck for a good cause. Cost: $10.00 for four bingo cards.
Partners in Caring involves ShopRite associates spanning six states to band together every September as part of National Hunger Action Month to raise awareness and funds on behalf of local hunger relief agencies. Since the inception of the ShopRite Partners in Caring Program in 1999, more than $29 million has been donated to 1,700 hunger relief agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
