In-Store Dietitian Leads 3-Week Program for Customers
WALLINGTON, N.J., Jan. 12, 2016 – A group of participants in ShopRite of Wallington’s “Eat Well, Be Happy” weight management series are kicking off the new year on a healthy foot. Samantha Pappas, R.D., the store’s registered dietitian and a certified personal trainer, recently led the group in the first of its three sessions. She spoke about food groups, meal planning, the timing of meals, and goal setting as well as the importance of adding an array of fruits and vegetables to one’s diet. During the gathering, participants all tried jicama for the first time. Pappas is pictured addressing the group.
Each month, ShopRite of Wallington, an Inserra Supermarkets store, hosts an extensive range of free health and wellness events at the store led by Pappas. In addition, Pappas and her fellow ShopRite in-store dietitians are available for free one-on-one nutrition counseling and to present nutrition talks for community groups.
