POTTSVILLE, Pa., Jan. 2, 2013 – Satisfy your sweet tooth, brush up on local history and enjoy some amazing mall-wide bargains. A full calendar of special events has something for everyone this February at Fairlane Village Mall, where escaping winter's chill has never been so much fun. All events are free and open to the public as follows:
- Fri., Feb. 1 through Thurs., Feb. 14 – Love is in the air at Fairlane Village Mall. Shoppers who spend $75 or more at any combination of mall stores on the same day within this promotional period will receive a free chocolate heart-shaped box filled with salted cashews. This Valentine's Day gift-with-purchase offer is good while supplies last. Same-day receipts must be presented in the mall office to receive the free gift. (One gift per household; must be 18 years of age or older.)
- Sat., Feb. 9 – Take a peek into the past from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the mall's annual History Fair. Local historical societies will provide informational displays that give a closer look at the county's rich heritage during this one-day event.
- Fri., Feb. 15 to Sun., Feb. 17 – The Hillside S.P.C.A. will hold its "We Love Our Pets" weekend, with all proceeds benefiting the Hillside S.P.C.A. For more information, call Josi Leach at (570) 462-1881.
- Fri., Feb. 15 to Mon., Feb. 18 – There's no better time to shop than during the mall's President's Day Sidewalk Sales, where participating retailers will be offering deep discounts on a wide variety of merchandise. This shopping event takes place during regular mall hours.
- Sat., Feb. 16 – Girl Scout Troop 31112 of Schuylkill Haven will conduct a Girl Scout cookie sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Sun., Feb. 17 and Mon., Feb. 18 – Daisy Troop 30986 and Junior Troop 30985 of Pottsville will conduct their Girl Scout cookie sales on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sun., Feb. 24 – Daisy Troop 30986 of Minersville/Pottsville will hold a Girl Scout cookie sale from noon to 4 p.m.
Fairlane Village Mall, "Where Schuylkill County Shops For Value," is located on Route 61 North, just a mile from downtown Pottsville. For the third year in a row, Fairlane Village Mall was named Best Shopping Center in the annual "Best Of" competition sponsored by Schuylkill Living Magazine.
