Father’s Day Gifts and Family-Friendly Entertainment Highlight June Events

POTTSVILLE, Pa., May 8, 2011 – Area residents are invited to take advantage of Father’s Day promotions, a free picnic for children and more with various events throughout the month of June at Fairlane Village Mall. All activities are free, unless otherwise noted, and open to the public.
- Mon., June 4 through Sun., June 17 – Hit a home run for Dad this Father’s Day with a free gift! From June 4 through Father’s Day, spend $50 in a single visit at any combination of Fairlane Village Mall stores and receive two free Reading Phillies tickets. Present same-day mall store receipts in the Mall Office, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to receive this free gift while supplies last. One gift per person. Shoppers must be 18 or older to redeem receipts.
- Tues., June 12 – Children 12 and under are invited to a free picnic lunch while getting the chance to meet and greet Reading Phillies mascot Screwball from noon to 2 p.m. Advance registration is required to attend this event. Register by June 6 by visiting the Mall Office or calling (570) 429-1563. All children in attendance also will receive one free Reading Phillies ticket.
- Sat., June 23 – Shoppers are encouraged to recycle old electronics including TVs, computers, cell phones and more during the e-waste collection event sponsored by the Schuylkill County Recycling and Solid Waste Department. For more information, call (570) 628-1220. Freon-bearing items will not be accepted.
Fairlane Village Mall, “Where Schuylkill County Shops For Value,” is located on Route 61 North, just a mile from downtown Pottsville. For the second year in a row, Fairlane Village Mall was named Best Shopping Center in the annual “Best Of” competition sponsored by Schuylkill Living Magazine.
