Dignitaries and Healthcare Colleagues Join in Ribbon Cutting Event at New Providence, N.J., Skilled Nursing Facility

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., March 22, 2022 — The leadership of Spring Grove Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and Marquis Health Consulting Services recently celebrated the completion of a sweeping, $4 million renovation and modernization. A late-winter, invitation-only event brought together dignitaries, care team members and healthcare colleagues at the New Providence skilled nursing facility; New Providence Mayor Al Morgan and newly elected State Assembly Member Michele Matsikoudis led the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“Spring Grove’s reintroduction is the culmination of a vision four years in the works,” said Ugochi Opara, regional director of market development for Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility and spearheaded the renovation. “Spring Grove has been completely transformed into a modern, home-like environment for residents – one that accommodates progressive skilled nursing care and services. This truly was a special project for a special facility.”

The Spring Grove renovation included a full-scale retrofit of the facility’s dedicated subacute unit and enhancements throughout its long-term care accommodations. The work also centered on an expansion of the rehab therapy gym and the incorporation of a spacious activities of daily living (ADL) suite. The gym includes include state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support the delivery of progressive rehab services, while the ADL suite mimics a home environment – enabling patients the opportunity to regain skills before returning home.

Spring Grove’s new design incorporates ample glass to capture abundant natural light and cleanly divide open spaces. It features a mid-century feel with an overall color scheme that is soothing and sleek – crisp shades of white and grey tie together, accented with Spring Grove’s signature shade of aqua.

Spring Grove, itself, sits nestled in a natural environment with beautiful landscaping. The update aligns with those Zen-like surroundings, by incorporating glass and natural stone surfaces, particularly in the modern lobby redesign. Renovation highlights also include wide, bright hallways; common areas boasting high ceilings; well-appointed rooms with contemporary fixtures and furnishings; and updated nurses’ stations.

“The updates pair a high level of functionality with soothing and sleek aesthetic touches – it’s just beautiful!” added Opara. “The result has just the right amount of brightness to keep spirits uplifted while not appearing too busy or overwhelming for those with dementia or cognitive impairment. The aim is to support the overall health and wellness of the entire Spring Grove family.”

During the renovation process, Spring Grove and Marquis also enhanced the facility’s specialized programming in partnership with leading regional healthcare providers. Offerings include focused Pulmonary Care and Physiatry Services. Spring Grove also has incorporated Marquis’ hospitality-focused Guest Services program, offering concierge-style support and personal services.

Spring Grove’s renovation may be new, but the facility’s recognition for quality is well established. The nursing home recently earned recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes 2021-2022, with top marks for short-term rehabilitation (third consecutive year) and long-term care (second consecutive year).

Based in Brick, N.J., Marquis Health Consulting Services is a highly skilled and vision-driven nursing home consulting company currently supporting Mid-Atlantic and New England facilities totaling approximately 6,000 skilled nursing and assisted living beds.
