Highly Respected Physician to Lead New Providence, N.J., Skilled Nursing Facility in Next Chapter

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., July 20, 2022 — Spring Grove Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in New Providence has appointed Samir Patel, MD, as its new medical director.
The announcement follows the recent completion of a $4 million renovation and modernization at the 106-bed skilled nursing facility, which provides post-hospital, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.
Dr. Patel is board-certified in internal medicine. He is the president and medical director of Berkeley Internal Medicine in Warren and is affiliated with Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Spring Grove has a well-established reputation for quality of care. The nursing home recently earned recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes 2021-2022, with top marks for short-term rehabilitation (third consecutive year) and long-term care (second consecutive year). “Spring Grove is an exceptional facility,” said Dr. Patel. “I am pleased to join the team here in providing progressive skilled nursing care to our residents, aiming to ensure the best possible outcomes.”

Spring Grove’s multi-million-dollar renovation included a full-scale retrofit of the facility’s dedicated subacute unit and enhancements throughout its long-term care accommodations. In addition, the work centered on an expansion of its state-of-the-art rehab therapy gym and the incorporation of a spacious activities of daily living (ADL) suite, which mimics a home environment – enabling patients the opportunity to regain skills before returning home.
