Offering at Freehold, N.J., SNF Responds to Area’s Large Eastern European Population

Alisa Pavlovsky

FREEHOLD, N.J. (April 16, 2024) — The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing in Freehold welcomes Alisa Pavlovsky as the new liaison for its cultural program for Russian-speaking residents. Located at 1151 W. Main Street, the 150-bed skilled nursing facility provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

“This cultural offering aims to meet demand stemming from a high local and regional senior population of Eastern European descent,” said Kate Bauer, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility. “Alisa is perfect for the role of liaison, and her work goes far beyond translation. She is passionate about the well-being of The Jewish Home’s Russian-speaking residents.”

The Jewish Home’s cultural initiative for Russian-speaking residents features bilingual caregivers and medical professionals. It also includes authentic cuisine prepared in-house, special recreational activities, a Russian library and Kartina TV.

“I am enjoying getting to know all of our Russian-speaking residents and their families,” said Pavlovsky, who earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Rutgers University. “For me, it feels like caring for my own grandparents. Our bilingual team is dedicated to helping ensure that the needs of our Russian-speaking residents are being met.”

The cultural program recently celebrated International Women’s Day, which is akin to Mother’s Day within the Russian culture. Festivities included a tea party, and all of the women at the center were gifted flowers.

The Jewish Home’s reputation for quality care and service is well established. The skilled nursing facility was a recipient of the American Health Care Association’s 2023 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award and maintains a Five-Star Overall rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
