Lifestyle Amenities Help Residents Find Work-Life Balance – at Home
WEST ORANGE, N.J., Oct. 1, 2020 – In response to sustained demand for luxury rental homes, The Residences at Edison Lofts in downtown West Orange has released its last remaining block of new apartments for immediate occupancy. The announcement by Prism Capital Partners marks another milestone for the firm’s Edison Village – the redevelopment of Thomas Edison’s historic Invention Factory and Commerce Center.
“Edison Lofts has evolved into a vibrant community,” said Prism’s Edwin Cohen, principal partner. “We are seeing continued demand for brand-new product, and because we have introduced the community in phases, we are still able to offer ‘never-lived-in’ homes.” The newly released apartments include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences in the completely reimagined 100-year-old factory building.
In total, The Residences at Edison Lofts features 300 homes, including 21 penthouses with private outdoor terraces. All offer high-end finishes and take advantage of original architectural features of the historic factory, incorporating 14- to 16-foot ceiling heights, and eight- and 10-foot replica replacement windows.
According to Cohen, Edison Lofts’ lifestyle amenities have been central to the community’s popularity among renters from the outset – and strengthen its competitive advantage in the current climate. “With so many professionals working from home, and a strong likelihood that remote or hybrid schedules will continue, luxury apartment communities like Edison Lofts have become the latest ‘live/work/play’ settings,” Cohen said. “Edison Lofts provides a perfect environment to achieve work-life balance at home.”
The community offers a 5,000-square-foot fitness center, heated indoor pool, 12,000-square-foot rooftop indoor/outdoor Sky Lounge with 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline, outdoor green spaces, a self-serve café, communal worktable, concierge service, and high-speed WiFi throughout all residences and common areas. Residents also have access to media screening and theater rooms, personal and bike storage, a dog-washing station, and complimentary shuttle service to two local train stations.
The Edison Lofts portion of the 21-acre Edison Village redevelopment also included the ground-up construction of a 630-space parking structure and 18,400 square feet of retail topped by The Mews at Edison Lofts, a boutique collection of 34 one- and two-bedroom homes with limited availability remaining. At build-out, Edison Village will incorporate additional housing options, including for-sale townhomes.
The Edison Lofts leasing center, located at 33 Ashland Avenue, is open seven days per week. For more information, contact Leasing@EdisonLofts.com or call 973-327-9748. For property information, visit EdisonLofts.com.
