Purchase from Virtua Health Reflects Seller’s Confidence in Continued Quality

BERLIN and MOUNT HOLLY, N.J., June 3, 2022 – Tryko Partners has expanded its New Jersey skilled nursing portfolio with the completed purchase of two facilities from Virtua Health. The facilities in Berlin and Mount Holly will be renamed Berlin Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and Mount Holly Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, respectively.

Virtua Health, South Jersey’s largest health system, selected Brick, N.J.-based Tryko as the buyer after a comprehensive search to find the best fit for Virtua, the facilities’ staff, and current and future residents. Tryko facilities are supported by Marquis Health Consulting Services, a highly skilled and vision-driven nursing home consulting company.

Virtua President and CEO Dennis W. Pullin, FACHE, cites compatible cultures among the reasons it pursued the transaction with Tryko Partners. “At Virtua, we continually evaluate our care portfolio and rebalance our offerings in order to adapt, succeed and be of greatest benefit to the region,” Pullin said. “By divesting in the realm of skilled nursing, we are better equipped to reinvest in areas where we can truly make an impact.

“With Tryko Partners – and Marquis Health Consulting Services – we have found a partner that will support an optimal continuum for patients,” he added. “Moving forward, we will collaborate with Marquis Health Consulting Services to support these great skilled nursing center locations with our physician and specialist providers, and ancillary and home-care services.”

The stand-alone Mount Holly facility features 180 licensed beds. The 128-bed Berlin facility is part of a larger Virtua campus. Virtua’s community-based services at the Berlin location – including radiology, lab, and a satellite emergency department – are unchanged by this sale.

“Our firm carefully targets opportunities involving facilities that are market leaders in providing quality care and services,” said Uri Kahanow, Tryko Partners’ director of acquisitions. “The Berlin and Mount Holly centers have stellar reputations, dedicated staff, and a culture of going the extra mile for residents and patients.”
