Two Associates from ShopRite of Lyndhurst Featured on Special Edition Cheerios Box
Inserra Supermarkets Store Honored for Outstanding Fundraising Efforts During ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest To Combat Hunger in Communities

LYNDHURST N.J., April 13, 2017 – Two Inserra Supermarkets associates from ShopRite of Lyndhurst, Anamaria Lazarski of Paterson and Brian Petry of Riverdale, are featured on a special edition Cheerios box, recognizing their fundraising efforts as part of the annual ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest.  During the campaign, ShopRite associates across six states raised funds to support regional food banks and hunger-relief programs in communities served by ShopRite stores.

The Inserra family, senior leadership and associates of Inserra Supermarkets joined in the recognition ceremony. General Mills partners with ShopRite in sponsoring the friendly competition, which has a “fighting hunger from the heart – together we can make a difference” theme this year.

As one of the top stores, raising $20,320, ShopRite of Lyndhurst was awarded $500 to donate to the Community Food Bank of N.J. Glenn Hansen and Tonya Walley accepted the donation on behalf of the Community Food Bank of N.J. Steven Hilder, community relations advocate of the Wakefern Food Corp., served as the MC of the recognition ceremony.

“We are proud to partner with Wakefern and General Mills to provide support for the local food pantries and charities that serve as a lifeline to many in our communities,” said Lawrence Inserra, Jr., chairman and CEO of the family-owned grocery store chain. “As always, our customers and associates are true heroes for their generosity and efforts in combating hunger with us.”

In addition to ShopRite of Lyndhurst, three other Inserra Supermarkets stores are being recognized for their fundraising efforts. Inserra Supermarkets, which is a member of the Wakefern Food Corp. cooperative, is widely acknowledged as a good corporate citizen, dedicated to improving the lives of local residents and those in need.  Since the inception of Wakefern’s Partners In Caring program in 1999, more than $44 million has been donated to 2,400+ charities in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
