Ribbon-Cutting and Dedication Held for Stafford’s Newest Affordable Apartments

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J., May 29, 2019 – Walters, an award-winning developer, held a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony to celebrate the opening of Cornerstone At Stafford, a premium age and income-restricted housing community offering 100 LEED®-certified apartments. The event was held at 120 Campbell Blvd, Stafford, N.J.

“We are very proud of this beautiful building,” said Joseph Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters. “It was built with a lot of love and care by all the professionals at Walters. And it’s especially significant because it’s part of the larger Stafford Park redevelopment that we began developing nearly 15 years ago. Today, it’s a thriving community with retail, affordable, market-rate and single-family homes.”

Residents have begun moving into the one- and two-bedroom apartments which feature high-end amenities such as upgraded kitchens with granite countertops and a full appliance package, washer and dryer, wood grain vinyl planking, emergency alarm system and 24/7 onsite management and maintenance. In addition, resident activities and events are offered through a social services coordinator. Apartments are still available with prices ranging from $874 to $994 for a one bedroom, and from $1,048 to $1,250 for two bedrooms.

During the celebration, Walters dedicated the building in honor of Edmund Speitel Sr., a former engineer for Walters who worked for the company for 20 years. A dedicated professional, Edmund passed away in 2017, but not without leaving an indelible impression on the company he helped to grow. Speitel’s wife Diane, daughter Leanne Speitel Anderson and son Ed Speitel Jr., Walters’ vice president of land development, attended the event and assisted with the ribbon-cutting. The new building was blessed by Monsignor Ken from St. Mary’s parish in Barnegat.

Founder and Partner Ed Walters Jr. said, “Who we are as a company and everything we’ve accomplished was with the spirit of Ed Speitel. He is part of the fabric of this company.”

Cornerstone At Stafford is open to adults (55+) who do not make more than 60 percent of the county’s median income. For leasing information, call 609-597-0300. To learn more, visit
