Developer, Local Nonprofit Partner Fill Food Baskets for Families in Need

BARNEGAT, N.J. (Nov. 21, 2022)Walters, an award-winning developer, has begun preparing their annual Thanksgiving baskets to distribute to roughly 87 families in need, living in Ocean, Burlington, and Monmouth Counties. By partnering with Family Promise of Southern Ocean County, a local nonprofit, Walters and its employees are able to help community members who may not be able to provide a Thanksgiving dinner without assistance.

“We received an overwhelming amount of food and financial donations from our employees, and along with 30 baskets from Family Promise we are able to fill requests for food baskets,” said Jennifer Pampalone, social services coordinator for Walters.

Requests for food came from families living in the 18 income-restricted properties owned and managed by Walters, according to Pampalone. She added, “Thanksgiving is a time to give back, and it’s wonderful to see this annual tradition grow significantly throughout the years.”

Pampalone works in tandem with property managers to provide specialized programming for residents of Walters’ income-restricted communities – both non-age-restricted and senior (55+) – located throughout New Jersey.

Family Promise is a nonprofit which works with faith and community-based organizations in Southern Ocean County to provide temporary shelter, meals, and supportive services to struggling families with children under the age of 18.
