Stafford’s Newest Premium Income-Restricted Community Welcomes Residents

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J., Mar. 2, 2020 – Walters, an award-winning developer, has opened three of the five buildings planned for Cornerstone at Grassy Hollow, a new premium income-restricted apartment community currently under construction. The developer expects to complete the remaining two buildings by spring of 2020.

Located on 200 Back Road, Cornerstone at Grassy Hollow welcomed its first residents in December 2019. The new development offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes, featuring individual private entrances. When completed, the five residential buildings will total 60 apartments in a maintenance-free community with an array of amenities.

Walters Partner and Director of Affordable Housing Joe DelDuca said the development was designed to attract a diverse mix of residents, including singles, young families and older adults. “Walters is committed to creating high-quality housing options which enhance the area while helping to meet the demand for more affordable homes.”

Cornerstone at Grassy Hollow is designed to achieve both LEED® and ENERGY STAR® certification, which reduces energy costs and improves environmental health. Walters has several LEED properties in its portfolio, including Stafford Park Apartments, New Jersey’s first LEED-Gold certified affordable housing community.

In addition to green buildings, the community features a well-maintained landscape, modern amenities and services. Each apartment is equipped with ENERGY STAR appliances, a full-sized washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchens with dishwashers, and blinds in each room. Common areas include a community clubhouse with computer workstations and a fitness center, tot lot and BBQ picnic area. Resident activities and events are offered through a staffed social services coordinator.

Located in the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township, the community is situated near local shopping areas, dining and entertainment. Also, Long Beach Island is just minutes away, offering easy access to local beaches and many other recreational facilities.

Cornerstone at Grassy Hollow is open to individuals and families who do not make more than 60 percent of the county’s median income.
