History and Philosophy

Founded in 1945, Alfred Sanzari Enterprises is a long-time leader in New Jersey’s real estate industry. The company’s commitment to quality and service extends back to its early beginnings, when founder Alfred N. Sanzari built his first single-family home in Dumont, NJ. After serving in World War II, he established a sheet metal subcontracting firm built on self-reliance, hard work, fiscal responsibility and integrity. David Sanzari, President and Chief Executive Officer

David Sanzari oversees the company’s daily operations with the hallmark hands-on management style for which Alfred Sanzari Enterprises is known. He joined the company, under the watchful eye of his father, in 1972 as a laborer in the Construction department and rose through the ranks to become a project manager. With a career that spans more than 40 years, he has earned industry-wide respect as a commercial real estate industry leader whose commitment to outstanding service and superior construction is unwavering.

Ben Sanzari, Vice President

Ben Sanzari is responsible for managing, maintaining and expanding the Alfred Sanzari Enterprises multifamily portfolio, encompassing more than 500 total units throughout Northern New Jersey. Learning the family business from the ground-up, Ben launched his career in 1970 when he started out as a Laborer in the Construction department. For the past 40+ years, he has been involved in every facet of Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ commercial real estate business and is committed to delivering the highest level of service excellence at the company’s urban and suburban luxury and garden apartment complexes.

Ryan Sanzari, Chief Operating Officer

Sanzari represents the company’s third generation of family leadership. He joined the company full-time in 2011 as an assistant project manager, began managing the firm’s construction projects in 2012 and was named director of operations in 2014 before assuming the COO position in June 2016. Current responsibilities include overseeing the firm’s construction, leasing, property management and human resources departments, as well as ensuring the company’s operational efficiencies. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Villanova University.

Jeffrey M. Jacobson, Chief Financial Officer

An industry veteran with 30 years of experience, Jacobson joined Alfred Sanzari Enterprises in 2015 and is responsible for directing the execution of the company’s business plan and strategy, helping expand the firm’s real estate holdings, and overseeing all finance and accounting functions. A certified public accountant, Jacobson earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Vanderbilt University.

Jerry L. Barta, Vice President and Director of Leasing and Marketing

Barta joined the Alfred Sanzari Enterprises team in 1994 and is responsible for overseeing all leasing and marketing activities related to the Glenpointe office complex, the Alfred N. Sanzari Medical Arts Building, and the Meadowlands industrial buildings in South Hackensack. A graduate of Touro College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and political science, he also earned a Juris Doctorate with honors from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law.

Stephen C. Jennings, Vice President of Leasing and Marketing

Jennings joined Alfred Sanzari Enterprises in 2014, and is responsible for overseeing all leasing and marketing activities for Court Plaza, Elmwood Corporate Park, Elmwood Park Plaza, Heights Plaza, Norwood industrial park and Summit Plaza. A licensed New Jersey real estate broker with more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Rutgers University.

Andrew T. Gerleit, Vice President of Construction

Gerleit supervises and manages Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ overall real estate development activities, including the construction division’s planning services, practices, procedures and personnel. Andrew Serves on the Board of Directors for the HackensackUMC Advisory Board and is a member of the Facility Planning Development Advisory Committee. Andrew studied Civil Engineering at the University of Utah, Construction Management Engineering Technology at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He joined the company in 2003 and has more than 33 years of development and construction industry experience.

Julian D. Felch, Vice President of Operations

Felch joined Alfred Sanzari Enterprises in 2017 as a senior member of the operations team, with responsibilities that include general oversight of the firm’s business and property operations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bates College and a master’s degree from Harvard Business School.
