Centenarian Honored with Party at Riverton Enhanced Senior Living
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (May 18, 2023) – Riverton Enhanced Senior Living hosted a very special birthday celebration in honor of resident Jean Kessler, who recently turned 102. The Allentown resident – a Bethlehem native – was joined by family, residents and staff at the Lehigh Valley independent living community.
Jean spent most of her life in Bethlehem, where she served as a chairwoman of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of St. Luke’s Singers, a renowned hospital-based choir and beloved Lehigh Valley institution whose performances raise funds for programs within St. Luke’s University Health Network. She also was instrumental in planning Musikfest, a popular 10-day music and arts festival held in Bethlehem and attended by over 1 million music-lovers each year.
Jean is married to Don Kessler, with whom she shares a daughter, Nancy, as well as two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies involve traveling, gardening, Broadway musicals and – of course – singing.
“We are honored to celebrate this wonderful birthday girl,” said April Watson, executive director at Riverton. “Jean has enjoyed a rich and fascinating life, and is among the many residents in our community whose stories are an inspiration to our entire team.”
Residents at Riverton Enhanced Senior Living enjoy a worry-free lifestyle in a charming community with beautifully appointed apartments, gourmet dining and an engaging mix of programming and activities.
