The geriatric nursing assistant was among 20 skilled nursing and assisted living professionals recognized for their contributions and sacrifices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recipients were nominated by their employers and chosen for heroic performance, including their demonstrated commitment to compassionate quality care, tireless work ethic, dedication to teamwork, and enthusiasm for leadership.

“While every healthcare worker truly deserves praise and recognition, we wanted to celebrate a handful of frontline heroes who have gone above and beyond to continue providing quality care to Marylanders in their most desperate hour of need,” said Joe DeMattos, HFAM  president and CEO.
