Fourth-Generation Kosher Bakery a Community Staple

Zadies Bake Shop at Fair Lawn Promenade

FAIR LAWN, N.J. (July 9, 2026) – Long-time North Jersey institution Zadies Bake Shop is now open at Fair Lawn Promenade, bringing another quality tenant to the mixed-use, village-style community. Located on Route 208 and Promenade Boulevard, Fair Lawn Promenade is a Garden Communities/Garden Commercial development.

The grand reopening marks a new beginning for the fourth-generation family-owned kosher bakery, which returns to Fair Lawn nearly two years after a fire destroyed its previous location. Now operating from a 3,233-square-foot, state-of-the-art bakery and retail space at Fair Lawn Promenade, owners Adam, Ann and Ethan Steinberg say the business is poised for its next phase of growth.

“We are thrilled to welcome customers back to Zadies,” said Adam Steinberg. “Our new space has allowed us to expand our offerings, from cookies, babkas and cupcakes to artisanal and rye breads, challahs and an enhanced dairy line. We are grateful for the support we’ve received and look forward to serving the community with the fresh, high-quality baked goods that have always been at the heart of our business.”

Zadies Bake Shop also has a successful wholesale business serving supermarkets, kosher markets and caterers with a wide variety of baked goods. The bakery’s offerings are entirely nut- and sesame-free.

“Zadies is a New Jersey institution, and we are proud to welcome them to Fair Lawn Promenade,” said Michael Gartenberg, director of Garden Commercial. “Their longstanding reputation, loyal customer base and deep roots in the community make them an outstanding addition to our tenant mix. We are excited to be part of this milestone for Zadies, and know their presence will be a tremendous asset to both the property and customers throughout the surrounding communities.”

Boasting an upscale town-center environment, Fair Lawn Promenade encompasses approximately 65,000 square feet of retail and office space. Its tenant roster includes Starbucks, Habit Burger, Jersey Mike’s, CUPS Frozen Yogurt, Qdoba, European Wax Center, Verizon Wireless and Kessler Rehabilitation, along with a complement of localdining and service providers. The retail building sits adjacent to Fair Lawn Promenade’s residential component, which includes 150 luxury rental apartments; the Garden Communities property remains in high demand with limited availability.
