NJDEP Officials, Industry Experts to Discuss Evolving Rules Complicating CRE Redevelopment, Remediation
EDISON, N.J., July 8, 2022 – From the Emergency Flood Hazard Area Control Act to Stormwater Management and Environmental Justice rules, New Jersey’s rapidly changing standards will have a tremendous impact on how the commercial real estate industry approaches development in the state. NAIOP New Jersey’s annual Regulatory, Legislative and Legal Update will examine the pending changes and offer insight into what companies need to do to ensure they are in compliance.
The program will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Northeast Carpenters Training Center in Edison. Updates will also cover pending third-party inspection legislation, remedial action permits, new soil remediation standards, A-901 licensing (dirty dirt law), alternate and clean fill, and emerging water contaminants (PFAS).
Speakers include NJDEP officials Vincent Mazzei, assistant commissioner, Watershed and Land Management; Sean Moriarty, deputy commissioner for Legal, Regulatory and Legislative Affairs; Janine MacGregor, director, Division of Sustainable Waste Management; and Kandyce Perry, director, Office of Environmental Justice.
Confirmed industry experts include Kendall St. Ange, TRC Environmental; Michael Newton, PS&S; Emily Lamond, Cole Schotz; Dennis Toft, CSG; Brad Vander Vliet, Crow Holdings; Susan C. Karp, Karp Environmental Law, LLC; Brad Bohler, Bohler Engineering; Donald Richardson, EWMA; and Anthony Pizzutillo, Pizzutillo Public Affairs.
Networking begins at 7:45 a.m., followed by the program from 8:30 to 11:10 a.m. This program has applied for two continuing education credits each for New Jersey licensed brokers/salespersons, attorneys and architects.
