Certified Nursing Assistant Earns “Frontline Honors” Award in National Industry Competition
LITCHFIELD, Ill. (July 8, 2026) – Litchfield Health & Rehab Center Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Ashley Lott has earned a Frontline Honors Award as one of the top caregivers in the U.S. in skilled nursing.
The awards program showcases the exemplary character and performance of front-line workers employed by provider organizations. It recognizes innovators, service champions, and those leading the care experience for memory care, senior housing, and senior living residents, making key contributions – not just as individuals – but as beacons for their industry.
If enthusiasm and warmth are contagious, then, according to colleagues, Lott has probably infected all of Litchfield Health & Rehab Center with her unflagging good humor during her 15 years of service at that facility. Certainly, her colleagues have expressed appreciation for Ashley’s sunny disposition, and the families of residents know her name and seek her out for conversation.
“Ashley takes great pride in caring for her residents and their families, and she shares a great rapport with all she takes care of,” said Jamie Evans, CEO/Administrator of Litchfield Health & Rehab Center. “I hear frequent compliments on the care she provides from both residents and families. She always does the right thing even when no one is looking. Her integrity is impeccable.”
Lott has worked her way up in the skilled nursing field. Beginning in 2004 as a meal assistant, she went on to get her CNA license. She continued as an aide for several years before moving to Litchfield Health & Rehab Center, where she has worked for the past 15 years.
If she’s done anything special, Lott said, it’s that she’s connected with so many residents and their families, “going above and beyond to do things for them. If someone says they want something, I’ll buy that before I buy something for myself. I do more behind the scenes than people see.”
They do see her, though, when she dresses up like Santa Claus for Christmas parties, or walks with residents in the Halloween parade, where the seniors wave and throw out candy.
“I love being able to help residents and make them smile,” she said. “If I make someone laugh, the day is golden. I’m resilient and reliable, and I smile as much as I can. Life is hard, but you have to stay positive and not bring others down.”
