Jan. 26: Leading Developers will Share Reuse, Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Success Stories
SHORT HILLS, N.J. (Jan. 13, 2023) – The first big commercial real estate event of the year will examine the impact of global, regional and local economic trends on the industry, and take an in-depth look at the complexities and strategies behind some of New Jersey’s most successful adaptive reuse projects.
NAIOP New Jersey’s “Annual Meeting and Commercial Real Estate Outlook” will also include the announcement of the results of the 2023 NAIOP NJ Officers & Trustees election. The event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Hilton Short Hills. Networking and cocktails begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the program.
Spencer Levy, global client strategist and senior economic advisor with CBRE, will address the challenges and opportunities presented by the current economic climate.
“Despite negative economic headlines, the outlook for commercial real estate is not as bad as feared,” said Levy. “There are growing calls for a recession, and understanding how this will impact the industry is important. Evolving interest rate environments present unique challenges, and having a good understanding of them will give practitioners a strategic edge.”
Gensler principal Dana Nalbantian will moderate a discussion with leading developers about how they tackle reuse, rehabilitation and redevelopment. Each panelist will take a deep dive into a specific adaptive reuse project, with a focus on:
- Best and worst decisions and ideas
- Assembling teams, timing and resources
- Lessons learned for future projects
Confirmed panelists include Eugene R. Diaz, principal, Prism Capital Partners, LLC; Doug Sarini, special advisor/consultant, Edison Properties, LLC; and Chris Cozic, EVP and CPO, GenMab.
