Members Recognized for Wide-Ranging Community Service Efforts
NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., June 23, 2021 — Spring Grove Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in New Providence recently partnered with Our Lady of Peace (OLP) Church to honor members of the BOLD Youth Ministry for their dedication to community service. Pictured (L. to R.) at the recognition event are Ugochi Opara, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports Spring Grove; members Madison Perre, Christiana Gerace, Christine Benites and Aidan Jonny; and OLP’s Rachel Flannigan, leader of the Youth Ministry.
Throughout the winter and spring, members of OLP’s BOLD Youth Ministry participated in wide-ranging community service projects, including initiatives to bring cheer to residents of the skilled nursing facility. Those included singing Christmas carols, building snowmen to delight residents, and delivering holiday and Mother’s Day cards, among other outreach projects. During a Sunday mass at OLP, Perre, Gerace and Jonny received certificates from the church, and Opara presented Benites with a certificate signed by Spring Grove’s Eli Rosenblum, administrator, and Greg Calderon, director of nursing.
“It’s important to honor and applaud those focused on community outreach, especially young people such as the members of the BOLD Youth Ministry,” said Opara. “They truly went above and beyond in their dedication to improving the lives of others, including the senior population, during the challenges of the pandemic. We are so thankful for their kindness.”
Located at 144 Gales Drive, Spring Grove provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The facility was recognized as a “Best Nursing Home 2020-‘21” by U.S. News & World Report in both long-term care and short-stay rehab; it was Spring Grove’s second consecutive honor in the short-stay category.
