Children and their Families Enjoy Second Annual Retro Movie Event at South Orange Synagogue
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J., Mar. 30, 2016 – Given the success of last year’s inaugural drive-in movie event, preschoolers at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI)’s Iris Family Center for Early Childhood Education went back in time again for the second retro movie experience. Children and their families constructed and decorated their own cars from cardboard boxes and craft supplies, visited the concession stand for popcorn and healthy treats, and watched the animated feature film, “The Gruffalo.” Among the approximately 85 participants were Christopher Schrader of Maplewood, who attended with his daughter and son. The program is one of many hands-on experiences the early childhood education center provides for its students and their families throughout the year.
Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel is a vibrant Reform congregation located at 432 Scotland Road in South Orange, N.J., that offers Jewish preschool, Religious school, teen programs, lifelong learning for adults and a full complement of religious services and cultural programs each month.
