Garden Communities Massachusetts Previews Luxe Apartments with Retail

Newton Crossing rendering
NEWTON, Mass. (Sept. 15, 2026) – Garden Communities MA has released a series of artist renderings of Newton Crossing in Newton. The images give a first glimpse of the luxury rental apartments, amenities and public spaces planned for the new mixed-use community as it prepares to launch leasing in the fall.
Located at 1165 Washington Street, Newton Crossing will introduce 292 luxury rental apartments complemented by an extensive collection of lifestyle amenities and approximately 8,000 square feet of Main Street-style retail space – just one-half mile from the West Newton commuter rail station.
Newton Crossing was designed by Boston-based Elkus Manfredi Architects, whose distinctive vision is reflected throughout the community.
“We are excited to share the first visuals of Newton Crossing, marking another milestone in the development process,” said Garden Communities’ Eli Pechthold, managing director. “We look forward to kicking off leasing and introducing prospective renters to the dynamic living experience planned at Newton Crossing.”
Newton Crossing residents will enjoy a host of conveniences and community spaces including an on-site lifestyle concierge, amenity-filled lobbies, a game room with billiards, conference rooms, flex lounge spaces, a fitness center, a sauna, a golf simulator, a private courtyard, a rooftop terrace, private work pods, and garage parking with EV charging stations. Outdoor spaces include a natural creek and promenade that is available for public use.
Comprised of three architecturally distinct buildings, Newton Crossing will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments atop ground floor retail. Large, loft-style windows that bring abundant natural light into each residence, with select floor plans featuring private balconies and terraces. Select one-bedroom floor plans will include dens.
A pedestrian-friendly location – moments from shops, services and restaurants in the village of West Newton – adds to the community’s appeal. Newton Crossing is proximate to the Massachusetts Turnpike and just one block from a Trader Joe’s supermarket.
