Free Nutrition Services and Programs Available to Customers and Local Community Organizations
WEST NYACK, N.Y., Nov. 9, 2015 – Inserra Supermarkets has announced the appointment of Jaclyn Padovano, R.D. as the new retail dietitian for ShopRite of West Nyack. In this role, Padovano will expand the store’s nutrition counseling, providing customers of all ages with a wellness resource. ShopRite of West Nyack also will host a LiveRight calendar of events each month, featuring healthy food and meal preparation tips.
“We are pleased to welcome Jaclyn to our team of dietitians and expand our wellness and nutrition programming at ShopRite of West Nyack,” said Lindsey Inserra, vice president of health and wellness.“Jaclyn has a strong background in nutritional sciences and is committed to helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. She will serve as a valuable resource to our customers in West Nyack.”
A resident of Mahwah, N.J., Padovano earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional services from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. During her dietetic internship, she served as a wellness and community intern at Inserra Supermarkets, a clinical intern at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J., and as a food service intern at AVI Food Systems at BMW Group of North America in Woodcliff Lake, N.J. Prior to joining Inserra Supermarkets as the new retail dietitian, Padovano worked as a certified lifeguard/swim instructor at Rutgers Aquatics in Piscataway, N.J., and as the swim director at Woodmont Day Camp in New City, N.Y.
“I am passionate about nutrition as it relates to one’s overall health, the prevention and management of illnesses, and optimizing performance. I live by the truth that small adjustments can lead to great changes,” said Padovano. “I feel privileged to join Inserra Supermarkets, which is highly respected for its dedication to the health and wellness of its customers and associates.”
Each month, dietitians at Inserra’s ShopRite supermarkets located in New York and New Jersey host a series of free events. In addition to small group and one-on-one counseling, the stores host healthy cooking classes, recipe demonstrations, and pantry makeover seminars. Widely acknowledged as a good corporate citizen, Inserra Supermarkets supports numerous non-profits and other organizations. Those regularly include food pantries and soup kitchens, hospitals and wellness organizations, public and private schools and universities, and churches and temples.
