  • Wed., March 6 & 20 – Learn how to practice different types of meditation, focusing on the breath, loving-kindness and awareness in a Jewish context during Opening the Heart and Mind at 9:00 a.m., facilitated by Beth Sandweiss. Levine will participate in the Friday night service at 6:00 p.m., which is open to all; on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m., she will present a concert and lecture about the music of the Jews of Cuba. She has spent extensive time with the Cuban Jewish community and will talk about their history, music and future. She will be joined in song by Cantor Rebecca Moses of TSTI. The Saturday evening program is free of charge but advance registration is required; go to https://www.tsti.org/calendar/artist-in-residence to sign up.

  • Thurs., March 14 – Speaker Amit Stern will share “70 Reasons for Hope” at 7:00 p.m., as part of TSTI’s programming about Israel. Stern, a native Israeli and the community “shaliach” (emissary) from the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, will talk about the many organizations, individuals and special events that are shaping Israel’s future. Among the initiatives Stern will share are bridging the gap between the country’s diverse populations, working to make Israel’s Parliament more transparent and accessible, and changing the nature of religion and State there.
